“Happiness in Bali is highlighted on the second half of the year, when the fuchsia bougenvilles jiggle cutely in the playful summer breeze, and the sun would not fail to paint the sky gold when it sets. Sublime beauty subtly lies in the horizon, where the all-day clear blue sky and sparkling ocean merge. The kind of beauty that would free your heart from whatever burden you have been dragging on. People would gather to be convivial and lovebirds would fly from all around the world to sprinkle love and wed. Which also means wedding vendors, too, will get very busy marking their calendars, and chattering about roses and peonies, hors d’œuvre and desserts, lipstick and laces.”
“What I would like to consider doing is to create something special for every wedding I documented, so that the series of resulting photos belongs only to the couple I shoot that day. At a venue I had been exploring for countless weekends, many times I would find myself standing on the exact same spot during the first dance scene. I had to keep reminding myself that I should not become a cookie cutter, even though I could guarantee you, that the spot offers the best lighting and composition for your first dance photos.”
