Coming from the UK, Michelle and James were looking to creating the perfect wedding celebration in authentic Thai scenery, and they got the perfect wedding.
Hosting a charming ceremony at the Shanti at Jivana Villa, the couple wanted their wedding to be a special experience for their friends and family members who flew in from various places including Australia, the UK, the USA (California and Texas), British Virgin Islands, Canada, and Israel.
With the bride being half Thai, they always knew that they wanted to have their wedding in Thailand. Phuket holds a very special place in their hearts as they had their first holiday there. After being shown different venues to host their wedding at, Michelle and James fell quickly in love with Shanti at Jivana.
“The Shanti looked ‘Thai’ without being too modern. People were travelling from all over the world and we wanted it to be authentic. The secluded Natai beach was key because we wanted the whole place to ourselves,” said Michelle and James.
“It took our breath away,” said Michelle and James.
The theme colours were pink, gold, and navy. There was a touch of travel themes, too, for the couple’s love of travelling. Invitations to guests were in the form of a passport and boarding pass. The dining tables were named after the places the couple had visited or lived in.
There were smaller romantic details, too. The bride and groom both wrote each other sweet letters that were read before the wedding; James received special ‘in case you get cold feet’ socks from Michelle; the bride received a personalized pocket mirror, and the groom received a personalized pocket-watch.
