Famous Singapore photographer might have plagiarised work, says Mothership Sg

Famous Singapore photographer Daryl Aidan Yow might have plagiarised some of his stunning photo work, according to media powerhouse Mothership expose’. According to Mothership, the influential social media photographer boosting 100,000 followers infamous for his amazing photoshop skills might be just, ‘amazing for this photoshop’ skills.

Calling him out on his indiscretion, putting his work with a side to side comparison of  ‘original works’, this accusation might just be true.

Prior to the scandal, another media outlet The Smart Local, handed him high praise, calling him someone with an “astute eye to make anything plain into something wondrous”.

Here’s some of Mr. Yow’s impressive and inspiring Instagram profile

According to Mothership: “But we came to learn that for some reason, several samplings of his work look incredibly similar to that done by other photographers — and even some stock images.”

   The top image was uploaded on March 25, 2016. The image on Yow’s Instagram profile was uploaded on January 10, 2017.

   Which means Mr Julian Worker, the author of Ten Traveller’s Tales, must have traveled forward in time to use the same image for his book which he published in 2012.

6. Starstruck by professional photographer Luc Perrot work?

7. Same same but different. Quoting Mothership “Yow should be hopping mad by now because it looks like this great picture he took was stolen by a dude named Joshua Earle, and then edited, expanded and uploaded to royalty-free image portal unsplash.com”So what do you think folks? Are these pure coincidence or you couldn’t care less about Daryl Aiden Yow’s work, original or not?
