The plan for Jenny and Calvin’s wedding was planned out perfectly and with sunny skies and good vibes for days in a row, the team at the Wedding Bliss Thailand had good hopes for a beautiful outdoor wedding at the charming YL Residence, situated on Natien Beach, on the Southern coast of Koh Samui.
In Thailand, rain comes as naturally as sunshine and everyone knows what to expect during the rainy seasons. It is different, however, when you are surprised by grey skies in the middle of peak sunshine season—seasons to have the best weddings in. In some customs and traditions, rain on your wedding day is considered good luck as is popular culture in the Philippines; but rain on your perfectly planned outdoor wedding might not seem as lucky to you.
The hardworking team at the Wedding Bliss Thailand had everything to worry about, from having to move all props, decorations, and plans indoors, to figuring out the seating arrangements, decorations plans, and guest accomodations. In their experience, however, remaining cool and calm is the first step to solving any problem thrown at them.
Lucky for them, the bride, herself, remained calm and understanding, and the team was able to brainstorm the best solution for this situation. The new plan was for the wedding ceremony and reception to be held indoors. The after-party would still be held outside, according to the brides wishes.
The living room at YL Residence was a charming spot to set up the ceremony; its high ceilings and minimal interiors was a perfect complement to the planned classy and modern decor. Large ceiling-to-floor windows allowed an ideal amount of natural light to pour in despite the grey skies while the peach, blush, and coral tones brought out the desired warm ambience. The back of the living room was set up with a gallery structure, decorated with natural greens and beautiful portraits of the couple, making it ideal for photo opportunities for guests.
After the emotional ceremony, the couple was able to venture outside for some beautiful shots around the villa. While they were busy with creating stunning photography, the planning team were hard at work preparing for the dinner reception.
The villa clubhouse was decorated with dreamy fairy lights and tall flower arrangements, set off with a shade of grey table runners which made the dinner reception prominently festive. As the scrumptious dinner went on, the weather outside seemed to improve.
Guests were then led outside under the beautiful firelight canopy where the couple had their first dance and serenaded the crowd with a love song; and even as Jenny and Calvin began dancing on cue, a light warm summer drizzle showered the crowd, but it didn’t stop the romantic couple. The party went on without a hitch and nobody seemed to mind the capricious weather of the day.
Congratulations to Jenny and Calvin on their lovely summer rain-showered wedding! May their happiness always see them through any rainy day.
