“Our first date was on the Manhattan Beach Pier on May 1st, 2014 after two months of ‘dating’ on FaceTime. Drew had pursued me for literally years. For him, it surely was love at first meeting. We had met about 2 years before at a group dinner with mutual friends. But once the timing in our lives was perfect, we started to talk online and immediately knew that each of us were ready for this relationship. With Drew living and working in Atlanta and me living in Los Angeles, this distance only strengthened our growing love for each other. After a few months, we moved in together in Marina Del Rey and started living bi-coastal for over a year.
During this time, we traveled extensively throughout the US and the Caribbean, growing together while visiting many places on our bucket lists. From hiking the Grand Canyon and enjoying the beaches of Jamaica, the Bahamas, Catalina Island, and Tulum Mexico we explored many amazing places while learning and loving each other. Yet one of our most memorable trips was to my birthplace of Haiti. During this trip, we explored this amazing island, met with family, friends and most importantly, my father.
Because Drew knew he one day soon would propose, he knew meeting my father was one of the most important journeys he would ever take. Our travels eventually took us to Nice, France for an early summer vacation. This is the trip when Drew planned to ask for my hand in marriage. And while we sailed around the islands near Saint Tropez, we stopped off at a secluded beach where he proposed and I said yes! We were married at a private home overlooking the ocean in Malibu. For our family, friends, and us, this day was the culmination of years of loving each other and becoming best friends. This day was the most amazing representation of the love we have for each other and all those who know us. We plan more journeys for years to come and will be honeymooning soon in Asia and the Polynesian Islands.” – Bride, Natasha.
