Nellie & Steven Brun’s Exotic Garden Wedding in Phuket

Every bride wants their wedding day to be a memorable one. Just as Nellie Royan, who married her charming prince – Steven Brun, in an elegant, exotic and chic garden wedding at Baan Santisuk, Phuket, Thailand on 11 December 2015.

Nellie and Steven spent so much time together in Thailand, it’s no wonder why they’ve choose to have their wedding there! Phuket’s beautiful and lush greenery acts as the best back drop, giving our bride and groom some privacy for an exotic summer garden wedding. The wedding reception was held on a cliff top overlooking the sea, decorated with lanterns and flowers, a touch of simplicity and chic ambiance.

Nellie wore a beautiful lace dress by Anna Campbell, as for the groom – Steven and his best man opted for a suave navy tuxedo. Her makeup was very minimal, highlighting her gorgeous blue eyes. She is a picture of perfection, completing her look with a stunning intricately embellished headpiece which complements her chic and simple style.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day?
We are a pretty intrepid pair and it only felt right that we should bring our loved ones together in beautiful Thailand where we have spent so much time in previously. We wanted something that felt like an exotic summer garden party and the idea of getting married on a cliff top overlooking the sea was inspired by where Steven proposed in Bali.

Steven is also quite renowned for throwing a good party and we loved the location as it gave us the privacy to hold a truly magical, cliff top garden wedding and reception and later a wild pool party giving our guests an experience to remember!

What are some adjectives that best describe the look of your garden wedding in Phuket?
Elegant, chic, exotic, magical, breath taking

What is the most memorable moment of your day?
There were so many!! Walking out to Jay Celada playing his acoustic version of Sam Smith’s Latch was pretty special to me. However I think hands down was our first dance! We were completely unprepared (we actually decided over dinner we would even do a first dance!), had zero dance skills and ended up dancing to what is essentially a break-up song “Love That Lovin Feeling” by the Righteous Brothers and also from the movie Top Gun (following Steven’s Top Gun theme Bucks party and I wanted something everyone would know the words to!), but it just worked so perfectly! All our guests were standing, singing out the lyrics in a circle around us, with sparklers flying and faces beaming, the moment was truly special.

What advice do you have for other brides / grooms?
Best advice that I can give is to take time out with each other and enjoy at least a few moments of the day together – it is so special and so much fun but also super busy – you probably wont get to see a whole lot of each other (solo) on the day! Steven and I decided to get a “sweetheart table” and that was a great idea as we were still close to everyone (our tables were all configured quite compactly so all the guests could interact with ease) but also able to spend our first meal as husband and wife together. It was great to sit back and just soak it all in – it was beautiful.
