A beautiful garden shoot after the Chinese wedding ceremony, followed by a Western garden wedding after; this is the big day of Vien and Michael. Although Vien and Michael is from China, their wedding goes against the conventional wedding trends, which is truly beautiful and inspiring in their very own way. Vien and Michael was also the entertainers for the day too (they even got their groomsmen to play the band and the bridesmaids to sing)! It is truly a wonderful gesture for all those whom attend. Here’s Vien talking to us about her wedding day…

“We just wanted our wedding to have a beautiful garden with a cheerful atmosphere; that’s why we decided to throw a live band show on the roof garden of the venue on our own.”

“My choice of the dominant colour is white, so Eva (my wedding planner) chose pink and white bougainvilleas to decorate the flower racks (for the aisle). Most of the decor used were flowers, to match the garden theme. We were very lucky to have Chris Spira as our wedding photographer on our big day. She is incredibly professional, quick in thought and movement. And I love her style and personality.”

“My wedding gown is by Monique Lhullier. I got it from Central Wedding in Hong Kong. It’s simple and feminine, with a piece of white silk wrapping around my shoulders. It’s totally flexible to style it in any way I want, and makes me feel elegant while providing comfort at the same time. The bridesmaids dresses are from an online store; the 60’s style and sakura pink shade is just perfect.”

“My most memorable moment of the day was when Michael shed his tears. It’s my favourite part. And when I was singing on stage, surrounded by the people whom I love as well as loves me.”

“If there are any words to describe my wedding, it would be ‘contemporary’, ’60’s style glam’, and ‘against conventional wedding trends’!”

“For the brides in China, my advice is: don’t be afraid to break the rules. Do it your own way, you will have no regrets. :)”
